We are excited to announce a great opportunity with Jacobs: Senior Environmental Regulatory Advisor . This role can be fulfilled in any Jacobs Canada office or telework location. The Senior Environmental Regulatory Advisor will be a key member of our Jacobs Canada Environmental Planning team and will be a liaison with our broader Jacobs team. This position will report to our Environmental Planning Director of Operations within the Jacobs Americas East Business Unit. 

As a Senior Environmental Regulatory Advisor, you will be responsible for proactively raising the Jacobs brand and position, both internally and externally, with regard to thought leadership, talent development, and strategic advising related to various regulatory, legislative, and government policy decisions that impact clients operating in the environmental planning, permitting, compliance, and liability management spaces.  

Your core internal and external leadership responsibilities will include: 

• Shaping and driving our Environmental Regulatory strategy and growth focus to drive differentiated profitable growth in the near- and longer-term 
• Guiding and implementing our thought leadership activities to shape our differentiated brand, reputation, and value proposition externally 
• Facilitating, positioning, and engaging in partnership with our client account managers and sales team to ensure Jacobs is the preeminent, trusted partner of choice with targeted new and existing core clients for the development and delivery of complex environmental planning and permitting projects, largely related to significant infrastructure and capital opportunities
• Engaging, inspiring, and mentoring within the community of environmental planning and permitting practitioners and subject matter experts, pursuit teams, and delivery teams, in partnership with our Business Unit leadership teams 
• Serving our clients with distinction, creating an environment that fosters life-long learning, experimentation and innovation, and living our Jacobs brand each and every day 

More specifically, your key responsibilities will include:

Strategy, Innovation, and Growth Focus:

• Develop strategy and tactics that focus on both near- and longer-term profitable areas related to evolving legal, legislative, and regulatory environmental planning and permitting client needs; primary initial focus will be on the Canada and client base, with as appropriate involvement or advisement in non-Canada jurisdictions.
• Stay abreast of environmental planning and permitting trends, regulatory and legislative changes, court decisions, executive actions, and policy interpretation to continuously evaluate their impact on our clients and our evolving offerings.
• Collaborate with sales teams to identify, develop and actively engage and win top prospects (i.e., pursuit strategy development, identify key staffing, opportunities to de-risk projects, proposal development and review).
• Outside of the Environmental areas, bridge across into our Water/Wastewater, Transportation, Energy & Power, and Advanced Manufacturing s to enhance cross- capabilities and drive opportunities.
• Position Jacobs as a thought leader in the Environmental Strategic Advisory space by ensuring visibility and contributing to the industry’s body of knowledge (examples include, but are not limited to, speaking and participating in high-impact conferences and events, publishing white papers, delivering podcasts, webinars, et cetera).
• Establish, endorse, and support an inclusive, collaborative environment that leverages skills and capabilities across the Business Units to drive truly -differentiated solutions and improved client connectivity and service.

Client Relationship and Delivery Focus:

• Network with current and potential clients utilizing industry reputation, experience and knowledge to develop new prospects and expand existing business.
• In partnership with our sales and program teams, engage to develop and maintain relationships with key senior executives in current and potential clients’ organizations, strategic partner organizations, and key -related associations.
• Lead teams and deliver work on client proposals and projects and in roles such as Senior Advisor or legal/regulatory subject matter expert for various project scopes and geographies across Canada.
• Oversee strategic overhead investments for Environmental policy and regulatory branding and networking.  

People Focus:

• In all aspects of your daily activities, spend time coaching and mentoring as a senior “leader” for early- and mid-career practitioners.
• Partner with Business Unit leadership teams to attract, develop and retain a diverse, motivated and highly talented workforce as a differentiator and strong brand in the industry.

Here's what you'll need

• Bachelors, Masters, Doctorate, or Advanced degree in Architecture, Biology, Environmental Science, Engineering, Law, Political Science or related field for the Environmental .
• Progressive consulting experience with a diverse portfolio of industry clients.
• Experience in strategy development, business development, and sales interpretation of administrative and environmental law. 
• Must be willing to travel for pursuits, projects, client relationship management, and talent development.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.  
• Able to demonstrate external and internal thought leadership skills and experience.
• Must be able to efficiently deliver results in a highly-matrixed, fast-moving, and complex environment.
• Membership or Board leadership in relevant professional trade groups and organizations considered an asset.

115,600.00

Posted Salary Range: Upper

180,625.00

The base salary range for this position is $115,600.00 to $180,625.00. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across British Columbia, Canada locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
