Summary of Duties:
Reporting to the Manager Accounting and under the daily direction and guidance of the Principal, the Accounting- Secondary is responsible for the overall accounting for the school's finances including both school generated and district held operating funds; processes the acquisition of textbooks and school purchases; and working as a member of a team to ensure the timely resolution of general school requirements, using both computerized and manual systems, in accordance with applicable regulations, policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Grade 12 Graduation
- Completion of a recognized 2-year Diploma in Business Administration with a major in accounting and finance
- Previous experience with accounting for and reporting on GST and PST
- Good organizational, interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills
- Working knowledge of office procedures and standard office equipment including Windows based office computer systems and software
- Ability to analyze, interpret and use judgment in the resolution of problems
- Ability to meet deadlines and work with minimal supervision
- Minimum keyboarding speed of 40 wpm
- An equivalent combination of training and experience
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
- Knowledge of School District administrative software
- Knowledge of School District operations
- Previous experience with computerized accounting systems in a School District
