Anesthesia Assistant at CHEO Ottawa

Join CHEO as an Anesthesia Assistant in Ottawa, supporting pediatric anesthetic care. Engage in crucial tasks such as monitoring anesthesia and assisting during surgical procedures. This role requires clinical expertise in anesthesia for care teams at CHEO, a leading pediatric health facility. You will be integral in tasks like setting up IV lines, administering medications, and managing airway support under physician supervision. Ensure quality care and enhance patient safety in a fast-paced hospital environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide anesthesia and sedation support for patients
- Prepare and maintain anesthesia equipment
- Administer anesthetic gases and medications
- Monitor patients' anesthesia depth and vital signs
- Assist in specialized and emergency anesthetic techniques
- Clinical Anesthesia Assistant Certification required
- Minimum one year of Anesthesia Assistant experience preferred
- Member of the College of Respiratory Therapy or Nurses of Ontario
- Current BCLS and CPR certifications
- Commitment to continuing education and interpersonal collaboration
