Staff Software Developer for Retail Team
Lightspeed Commerce
Join our Retail team at Lightspeed as a Staff Software Developer and benefit from flexible remote work options available in Canada. Drive architectural planning and participate in mentoring activities. In this role, you'll utilize your staff-level experience to engage in complex software projects, from coding to enabling and teaching other developers. Your systems thinking will guide product development, while you help assess risks and contribute to shared libraries and open source initiatives across teams. Key Responsibilities:
- Build software by engaging in coding and debugging
- Collaborate on Minimum Viable Product planning
- Lead mentoring and chapter review sessions
- Work on shared libraries and document best practices
- Identify delivery risks and propose mitigating solutions
- Demonstrated staff-level experience in software development
- Expertise in full-stack architectures with systems thinking
- Familiarity with AI-assisted coding technologies
- Ability to communicate technical details effectively
- Capable of adjusting strategies based on data insights
