Welder / Apprentice Welder

North Fringe is a proudly Canadian company specializing in industrial pumps, equipment rentals and pump repair services. We are looking for a safety-focused Welder or Apprentice Welder to join our team in Nipawin.

In this role, you will help fabricate, repair and modify industrial pumping equipment, pump skids, piping, structural supports and custom assemblies. You will work from drawings, work orders and verbal instructions while producing quality work in a fast-paced shop environment. Apprentices are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities
Perform MIG, stick, TIG and other welding processes as required and appropriate to your experience level.
Fabricate, fit, repair and modify steel, stainless steel and other components.
Prepare material by cutting, grinding, fitting, beveling and cleaning.
Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, weld symbols and technical specifications, with guidance as needed.
Inspect completed welds and assemblies for quality, fit-up and conformance.
Safely operate shop equipment, hand tools, lifting and material-handling equipment.
Assist with equipment teardown, repair and reassembly as required.
Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area.
Communicate material, tooling and repair requirements to the Shop Foreman.
Support shop, service and field activities as business needs require.
Qualifications
Journeyperson Welder certification is an asset, but not required.
Apprentice Welders are encouraged to apply.
MIG and stick welding experience is preferred. TIG experience is an asset.
Ability to read blueprints, shop drawings and weld symbols, or willingness to develop these skills.
Commitment to welding safety, quality workmanship and safe work practices.
Experience with fabrication, fitting, cutting and grinding is preferred.
Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with pumps, piping or rotating equipment are assets.
Machining experience is an asset.
