Thermo Fisher Scientific seeks an undergraduate engineering student for a project engineering co-op in Whitby, Ontario. The role involves managing small-scale projects, developing qualification protocols, and supporting operational efficiency improvements within a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage small departmental projects and develop project management plans and schedules
- Develop and execute Installation and Qualification Protocols for equipment
- Participate in equipment commissioning, start-up, and test trial activities
- Track operational excellence savings and project costs; explore production efficiency improvements
- Troubleshoot technical issues, organize engineering drawings, and establish document libraries
Requirements
- Undergraduate Bachelor's degree in Engineering, completing December 2027–June 2029
- Previous co-op, internship, or related work experience preferred
- Demonstrated leadership experience in student organizations, athletics, community service, or similar roles
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, adapt to priorities, and solve complex problems
- Strong communication skills and emotional intelligence across diverse teams
- Legal authorization to work in Canada; no sponsorship required
- Geographic mobility and commitment to onsite, in-office work
Compensation: $24.00–$25.00 hourly, dependent on academic year
