Senior Biomedical Data Scientist

Apply machine learning and AI to biomedical datasets at UHN’s MaRS site in Toronto, supporting drug discovery research through predictive modeling.

As a Data Scientist with the Structural Genomics Consortium, you will develop models for DNA-Encoded Library screens and other complex datasets. You will work with software developers, structural biologists, medicinal chemists, bioinformaticians, and research collaborators. The work supports open science and pre-competitive drug discovery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design end-to-end machine learning pipelines from ingestion through deployment
• Develop predictive models for DNA-Encoded Library screening data
• Implement transformers, graph neural networks, and generative models
• Perform exploratory analysis, statistical modeling, and visualization
• Maintain versioning, automation, tracking, and reproducible workflows

Requirements:

• Degree in computer science, data science, bioinformatics, or related field
• Master’s degree with four years related experience
• Bachelor’s degree with six years related experience
• Python, scikit-learn, pandas, and NumPy expertise
• Experience with biomedical machine learning and multidisciplinary collaboration
