Mechanical Technologist - PL#56555

The Mechanical Technologist supports multidisciplinary industrial projects involving piping, equipment layout, HVAC systems, and plant design. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing 3D models, technical drawings, and construction packages while supporting engineering and field execution teams in a dynamic project environment.

This role follows a 2-week in / 2 weeks out rotation (11-hour days) .

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using Autodesk Plant 3D and point cloud data
• Support mechanical engineers in the development of intelligent P&IDs, piping layouts, general arrangements, and HVAC designs
• Produce construction-ready deliverables including BOMs and work packages
• Perform field inspections of piping, tanks, structures, HVAC systems, and related industrial equipment
• Manage engineering documentation using Vault and/or site document control systems
• Support small capital and sustaining projects as required
• Assist mechanical technologists and engineering teams during project execution and field activities

Requirements

• Technologist certification required
• 4–10+ years of mechanical design experience in an industrial environment
• Strong experience with Autodesk Plant 3D, including smart P&IDs
• Experience with 3D modelling and point cloud workflows
• Proficiency with Navisworks, AutoCAD, CloudWorx, and JetStream or similar tools
• Experience in piping, equipment layout, pumping systems, HVAC, and industrial building services
• Field experience with inspections, construction support, or commissioning activities considered a strong asset
• Familiarity with CAD standards and engineering document control practices
• Ability to work in remote site conditions on a rotational schedule
