The ideal candidate will work closely with our Harvest Manager and be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the harvest process, including the handling and care of large livestock, dressing procedures and food safety processes of animal carcasses and by-products. Beretta Farms is a federally inspected facility and complies with CFIA regulated procedures. *Duties and Responsibilities*· * Responsible for pre-shift set-up * Completes and maintain daily reports, documents, and checklists. * Actively participates in group meetings, line meetings, and manager meetings. * Works with the Quality control department to ensure product quality & food safety in terms of SOP's and GMP's and follow HACCP program. * Ensures staff are wearing appropriate PPE for their position. * Maintains healthy and respectful communication with fellow staff members and stakeholders. * Creates a positive work environment. * Ensures efficiency on the production line in terms of yields, dressing and downtime. * Makes health and safety a top priority. * Provides mentorship and guidance to team members. * Willingness to learn. * Other duties as assigned. *Minimum Job Requirements* · High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience related to the duties and responsibilities specified. · Proficient with MS Office 365 applications. · Valid driver's license, with clean driving record. · PAL an asset. *Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required* · Excellent time-management. · Quickly adapts to changing priorities. · Clear communication and decision-making skills. · Good understanding and ability to troubleshoot carcass dressing. · Ability to analyze and solve problems. · Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork. · Knowledge of operational equipment for processing plant equipment, and services ordering and inventory control. · Mechanical aptitude. · Skid steer and forklift experience. · Must be in good physical condition with the ability to work at heights and able to lift/move (up to 50 lbs.), bend, push, pull, walk, and stand for long periods of time.
