The School

The role is within our School of Applied Sciences and Technology. The departments within the School are located on our Grande Prairie campus and our Fairview campus. The School offers a variety of programming in Fine Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, Sciences, and Animal Health Technology. Through this programming, we offer a variety of certificates, diplomas, university transfer courses, as well as a degree in computing science.

The Role

The Humanities and Social Sciences Department requires an English Instructor to teach the following course in the Fall 2026 term.

• A PhD in English is required. Evidence of successful instruction of undergraduate courses in English is an asset. Necessary skills and attributes to be successful in this role include:

  • Candidates must be able to apply different instructional strategies to meet the needs of students with different learning styles;
  • Knowledge of current educational technologies (e.g., videoconferencing, learning management systems) is desired;
  • Knowledge of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s 94 Calls to Action;
  • The ability to teach both online and classroom-based courses;
  • Student-focused;
  • Strong organizational skills;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to build strong relationships across the organization; and
  • A high level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability.
