Optical Test Development Engineer at Ciena

Ciena seeks a skilled Optical Test Development Engineer for their NPI team. Join us in delivering advanced automated calibration solutions focusing on high-performance coherent modems. In this key role with Ciena, you'll work on automated test development for new and existing optical products. Your responsibilities will include supporting R&D, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and enhancing production processes with data-driven insights. The position emphasizes collaboration with diverse teams to ensure smooth product transitions to high-volume production. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop automation for production line testing
- Support test tools during prototype development
- Analyze production statistics for yield improvement
- Facilitate new product transfers across sites
- Document fault isolation tools and troubleshooting guides
- Bachelor's in Electrical/Optical Engineering or related field
- 5+ years of test automation software experience
- Proficient in optical and RF test equipment
- Knowledge of high-speed modem components
- French fluency is desirable
