General Production (Blown Film)

Winpak Division is currently hiring for the General Production Position based out of Winnipeg on the 12-hour rotating shift . Reporting to the Operator or the Shift Supervisor/Lead hand, the General Production position is responsible for assisting with the safe and effective operation of the railcar unloaders, resin pelletizers, and blown film lines.

Position Responsibilities

• Assist Operators with preparing all orders for the shift to minimize non-productive time and production scrap.
• Support the operation of extruders, with a focus on the manual aspects of machine operation.
• Learn to operate extruders through competency-based training programs and direct Operator instruction.
• Assist with routine and basic maintenance of equipment, including assembly, disassembly, and cleaning.
• Perform routine quality checks to ensure product standards are met.
• Complete departmental documentation as assigned.
• Maintain a high standard of housekeeping within the department.
• Operate forklift equipment safely and efficiently.
• Perform core cutting as required.
• Assist with pelletizer operations.
• Support railcar unloading operations (outdoors).
• Participate in weekly resin inventory counts.

Required Qualifications

• Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
• 6+ months of experience with hand tools, including tape measures.
• Ability to take instruction and work independently as well as part of a team.
• Basic mathematical skills and ability.
• Good aptitude for machines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous related work experience preferred.

Additional Details

• The General Production position is 100% onsite, working on the production floor.
• We are located in Murray Industrial Park. There are limited bus services to this location.

12-Hour Shift Rotation: (example)

• Week 1 - Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday from 8:00-20:00 (days)
• Week 2 - Wednesday, Thursday from 8:00-20:00 (days)
• Week 3 - Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday from 20:00-8:00 (nights)
• Week 4 - Wednesday, Thursday from 20:00-8:00 (nights)
• Week 5 - Repeat rotation starting at week 1
