EHS Specialist I
Thermo Fisher Scientific
Environmental Health and Safety Specialist supporting manufacturing operations at a pharmaceutical facility. Develops and implements EHS programs, conducts training, manages compliance initiatives, and provides industrial hygiene and environmental support across operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead development and integration of EHS programs including lockout tagout, machine guarding, and process safety
- Conduct incident investigations, risk assessments, and JHSC audit finding closures
- Develop and deliver EHS training including orientation, safety talks, and specialized department training
- Manage hazardous waste, wastewater discharge, dangerous goods shipping, and respiratory protection programs
- Support industrial hygiene assessments and implement containment improvements
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field preferred
- Completion of EHS Certificate Program
- Minimum 2 years EHS experience in chemical, manufacturing, or pharmaceutical industry
- Minimum 1 year industrial hygiene training or experience
- Experience conducting presentations and training for various organizational levels
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and English language
- Strong communication and professional integrity
