Site: Princess Margaret Hospital, Wig Salon

Department: Outpatient Pharmacy

Reports to: Manager, Outpatient Pharmacy

Hours: 37.5 Hours per Week

Status: Casual

Closing Date: July 25, 2025

Position Summary

Working under the direction of the Operational Manager, the Wig Specialist will assist patients in selecting appropriate wigs or head apparel. The Wig Specialist will also assist in customizing wigs for patients through appropriate fitting and cutting of wigs. 

Duties

• Responsible for ordering, receiving, and pricing wigs and head apparel
• Responsible for shaping and cutting wigs for customized fitting
• Performing cashier functions
• Organizing revenue-generating promotions and other special events to attract customer interest
• Provides great customer service
• Coordinating the return of stale-dated merchandises and other products
• Communicating with other Pharmacy and hospital personnel
• Performing technical functions in support of the Wig Salon such as tracking customer sales, gross margins 
• Performing cross-functional duties, within scope of authority
• Performing other duties consistent with the job classification, as required
• Requires lifting items or bending
• Requires standing for majority of shift

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or recognized equivalent
• One (1) year related experience preferably in the healthcare industry
• Very good verbal and written communication skills
• Very good interpersonal skills
• Very good organizational and time management skills
• Computer Skills: MS Word and basic Excel an asset
• Knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (W.H.M.I.S.) requirements
• Compliance with established confidentiality requirement
• Satisfactory attendance
