Full-Time – Global Service Area: Langley, Mission and Abbotsford Base Office: Mission FDR Delegated Team 2 Salary: $69,762.65 to $94,755.02 per annum (35 hrs. per week) EDO (Earned Day Off) Available: TBD Position Summary

Reporting to a Delegated Team Leader, social workers provide culturally appropriate, community-based services within Stó:lō Territory in the Fraser Valley. They act as the first point of contact for child protection reports, work with families, communities, Band Designates, Elders, and other supports in case planning and service delivery. Services focus on Family Development Response, Protective and Voluntary Family Service, and Guardianship, and adhere to the BC Child, Family and Community Services Act and Aboriginal Operational and Practice Standards and Indicators (AOPSI). Responsibilities

Provide culturally responsive community-based services and support to Indigenous children, youth, and families. Serve as the initial point of contact for child protection reports and coordinate case planning with families and community stakeholders. Work within the parameters of the BC Child, Family and Community Services Act and AOPSI. Support communities in developing preventative programming that strengthens community capacity for protecting and supporting children. Participate in Community Protocols and important community events and ceremonies. Qualifications

Bachelor of Social Work, Child and Youth Care, or Social Sciences degree. Minimum of three (3) years experience in the human services field (or a combination of related education and experience). Able to attend training for C6 delegation in British Columbia. Ability to practice standards set by the Child Protection Response Policies, BC Act, and AOPSI Manual. Knowledge of relevant legislation: BC Perks Act, BC Adoptions Act, BC Family Relations Act, Young Offenders Act, and related legislation. Proficiency in Good Recording Guide and agency policies. Knowledge and appreciation of Indigenous culture and its impact on children and communities. Understanding of cross-cultural issues affecting children in care, foster parents, biological parents, and origin communities. Computer literacy: databases, Microsoft Word, Excel, and other computer software. Valid BC Class5 Driver’s License (no restrictions) and reliable transportation. Background or criminal records check (required). Additional Requirements

Union membership is required. Preference may be given to Indigenous candidates per Section41 of the Human Rights Code. Applicants must meet eligibility for the Indigenous Delegated Social Worker Progression (IDSWP) and may be subject to wage growth series outlined in the Collective Agreement. Benefits
