About the role:

As a VON nurse, you'll deliver holistic person-centred care to children, youth, adults, seniors, and support their families. Our Shift nurses provide extended visits for clients who are medically fragile, technologically dependent children, chronic/complex care adults, palliative, require pain and symptom management and much more.

What you'll do: 

• Client assessments to develop individual care plans
• Provide primary care in collaboration with other healthcare professionals  
• Simple and advanced wound care, including complex and negative pressure wounds
• Chronic Disease Management, e.g. diabetes care and education
• IV therapy and CVAD management
• Phlebotomy and specimen collection
• Dialysis Management
• Rehabilitative programs
• Palliative and End of Life Care
• Medication management
• And many other critical nursing skills 

What we're looking for: 

• Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the province of practice
• Community health experience is an asset
• Must enjoy driving, have a personal vehicle and possess both a current driver's license and proof of vehicle insurance
• A satisfactory Criminal Records Check is required; a Vulnerable Sector Search and/or Child Abuse Registry Check may also be necessary
• Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Working conditions and physical demands: This role requires a detail-oriented approach in a dynamic environment, with physical activity including lifting, carrying (using proper techniques), bending, reaching, kneeling, and other movements that emphasize good body mechanics.
