We are seeking a Teaching Assistant for COE758 Digital Systems Engineering to assist with lab and tutorial instruction and assessment.
Qualifications
- Education: Preference for current TMU graduate students in MASc or PhD. Other applicants considered if no qualified TMU graduate is available.
- Experience: Solid research background and in-depth knowledge of the subject matter required. Relevant software/hardware experience in the subject area.
- Additional: Prior AA experience an asset. Provide current degree program, year enrolled, past degree programs, transcripts, past AA experience including course codes (TMU) or titles of courses, and related research and coursework.
Responsibilities
- Prepare labs/tutorials and ensure strong grasp of content, procedures, and assignments.
- Grade lab/tutorial related assessments and prepare materials as needed.
- Invigilate midterm and final exams; proctor lab tests, exams, and quizzes.
- Supervise and facilitate labs/tutorials, set up experiments, demonstrate and explain equipment usage, and help students with technical procedures.
- Assist students with lab/tutorial-related assignments and project work in specified laboratories/tutorials.
- Other duties as required.
- Contract hours: up to 7 hours per term for initial preparation and invigilation; 9 hours for grading; 24 hours for lab supervision and facilitation. Estimated total 40 hours per term for first section, 33 hours for additional sections. Maximum 22 students per section.
Compensation
- September1,2024toAugust31,2025: Master – $49.93 per hour; PhD – $53.91 per hour.
- September1,2025toAugust31,2026: Master – $51.17 per hour; PhD – $55.26 per hour.
