This employment opportunity is restricted to residents of Igloolik only.
Reporting to the Regional Manager, Staffing, the Regional Staffing Officer provides recruitment services for over 1,000 GN positions in the Qikiqtaaluk Region. The role ensures GN positions are staffed with qualified and effective employees, applies staffing principles and policies in a timely and cost‑effective manner, provides procedural guidance to Human Resource Coordinators and department management, and complies with the Public Service Act, collective agreements, GN guidelines, policies and regulations, Article 23 of the Nunavut Land Claims Act and customer service standards.

The responsibilities of the position require specialized knowledge of current GN staffing policies, procedures and practices, and familiarity with the Public Service Act for Nunavut, the Human Resource Manual, collective agreements and the Nunavut Land Claims Agreement (Article 23).
Qualifications and Experience
- Grade 12 education
- At least 2 years of HR‑related experience
- Diploma in an HR‑related field is an asset
- Familiarity with human resources databases, software and systems (such as ePersonality) is an asset
- The ability to speak more than one of Nunavut’s official languages is an asset
An acceptable combination of education and experience may be considered.
