Position Summary

A leading private healthcare institution in the Caribbean is seeking an experienced Cardiologist with

subspecialty training in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology to join its multidisciplinary cardiovascular

team. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive assessment and management of patients

with cardiac arrhythmias, including advanced electrophysiological diagnostics, catheter-based

therapies, and cardiac implantable electronic device management.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with a broad spectrum of cardiac rhythm disorders,

including atrial and ventricular arrhythmias, bradyarrhythmias, and conduction abnormalities.

• Perform and interpret comprehensive electrophysiology studies for the diagnosis and treatment

planning of complex arrhythmias.

• Perform catheter ablation procedures, including treatment of supraventricular tachycardia,

atrial flutter, atrial fibrillation, and appropriate ventricular arrhythmias.

• Assess patients for and perform implantation and management of cardiac implantable

electronic devices, including pacemakers, implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs), and

cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) devices.

• Conduct device interrogation, programming, troubleshooting, and long-term follow-up of

patients with implanted cardiac devices.

• Interpret ECGs, ambulatory rhythm monitoring, event monitoring, and other relevant

cardiovascular diagnostic investigations.

• Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient cardiology and electrophysiology

consultations and participate in emergency or on-call cardiovascular services as required.• Collaborate closely with interventional cardiologists, non-invasive cardiologists, cardiac

surgeons, anesthesiologists, emergency physicians, and other members of the

multidisciplinary clinical team.

• Apply contemporary electrophysiology technologies, mapping systems, imaging techniques,

and evidence-based treatment protocols to optimize patient outcomes.

• Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive medical documentation while complying with

institutional policies, clinical governance requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.

• Participate in clinical audits, quality-improvement initiatives, morbidity and mortality reviews,

and research activities where appropriate.

• Contribute to continuing medical education, multidisciplinary case discussions, and the

professional development of physicians, nurses, and allied healthcare professionals.

Qualifications

• MD / MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.

• Recognized postgraduate specialization in Cardiology, such as DM, DNB, MD, fellowship, board

certification, or an internationally equivalent qualification.

• Formal subspecialty fellowship or recognized advanced training in Clinical Cardiac

Electrophysiology.

• Typically 3–5+ years of post-specialization clinical experience, with substantial hands-on

experience in cardiac electrophysiology.

• Demonstrated competency in electrophysiology studies, catheter ablation procedures, and

cardiac implantable electronic device management.

• Valid medical registration/license in the candidate's current jurisdiction and eligibility to obtain

the medical registration or licensure required for practice in the employing Caribbean

jurisdiction.

• Current certifications in relevant advanced cardiac life-support protocols are preferred.
