Security Engineer, Detection & Response

Responsibilities

• Maintain, improve, and own detection engineering systems and automated security response workflows.
• Perform investigations and contribute to security incident response across corporate and production environments.
• Maintain and operate identity and access management systems, including access reviews and controls.
• Implement preventative controls and defense-in-depth security measures.
• Research, identify, and respond to emerging threats affecting Sentry, its customers, cloud environment, and agentic product capabilities.
• Partner cross-functionally with engineering and other teams to prevent and respond to security incidents.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of industry experience in detection and response, corporate security, or generalist security engineering.
• Degree in Computer Science or a related field, equivalent training, or professional experience.
• Hands-on experience with alert triage, detection tuning and writing, detection-as-code, security log ingestion, investigations, incident response, IAM, phishing response, user access reviews, or endpoint detection and response tooling.
• Programming experience in at least one language, with Python preferred, and comfort using agentic development workflows.
• Familiarity with distributed cloud technologies such as AWS, GCP, Azure, Kubernetes, Docker, and Terraform.
• Experience with corporate identity technologies such as SSO, SAML, and IAM, and defensive security tooling such as EDR, SIEM, CNAPP, and ZTNA.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative approach to problem solving.
• Interest in ownership, automation, cross-functional collaboration, and continued growth across security domains.
