Food Service Supervisor - wholesale bakery

SALARY: $22.25 per hour / full-time position (40 hours per week)

LOCATION OF WORK: 200 Geary Avenue, Toronto, ON M6H 2B9

JOB DESCRIPTION:
– Supervise full-time and part-time staff in pastry and bread preparation.
– Establish work schedules and coordinate staff activities, complete and post staff schedules.
– Train staff in their tasks and responsibilities, sanitation and food safety procedures.
– Communicate changes to staff in regard to food preparations, formulas, standards, etc.
– Oversee and evaluate staff and recommend promotion (wage increase), transfer and/or termination.
– Assist with managing production schedules and handling inventory and ordering.
– Ensure that product quality, food safety, product preparation and cleanliness standards are maintained as per company guidelines.
– Inspect equipment and storage facilities throughout the shift to ensure that equipment is in proper working order. Inform manager of any malfunctions.
– Perform paperwork duties as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:
– Minimum 2-3 years of experience in the pastry/bread food service industry
– Flexibility in work hours (days, nights, weekends and holidays)
– Strong leadership and professional image
– Excellent decision-making ability
