Job Overview

Technician Histology

As an  Histology Technician for our team located in Senneville , you will mainly be responsible to prepare tissues for microscopic analysis. Your success will ensure the smooth running of our research, as well as the integrity of our pre-clinical studies.

In this role,  primary responsibilities include: 

• Perform histology activities such as: dissection, decalcification, processing, embedding, cutting, staining, quality control, and immunohistochemistry, histomorphometry, and slides scanning.
• Prepare necessary material requested by procedures.
• Operate necessary laboratory equipment.
• Prepare chemical reagents.

We are looking for the following minimum qualifications for this role: 

• Collegial Diploma in Science, Biotechnology, or any other related field.
• Able to demonstrate a high level of attention to details.
• Able to work physically (lift up to 20 kg, walk, stand, stoop, etc.).
• Understanding of written English is mandatory. Bilingualism French and English is preferable.

Role Specific Information: 

• Location: 22022 route Transcanadienne, Senneville, QC, H9X 1C1
• Transportation: We offer a shuttle service from Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue train station and John Abbott College to the Senneville site. In addition, the site is accessible from the Anse-à-l’Orme REM station via STM bus services. Free parking. Electric vehicle charging station
• Salary: $21.75/hrs. 
• Annual bonus based on performance plan.
• Flexible schedule, depending on the needs you must be available to work during days, evening, weekends, and holidays. Regular working hours are 8 am to 4:15 pm but may be subject to change depending on current studies.
• Permanent position as of the hiring, full-time 37.5hrs per week.
