Job Responsibility:
Paraiso Tropical - Latin Market is looking to hire a Shelf Stockperson for our company. This position is ideal for Students looking for a part-time job.
We are a locally-owned family run business with a team who share a common interest in Hispanic food, culture and language. We seek to build stronger connections with existing customers and teach new ones about our local Hispanic cuisine.
Looking for individuals who are passionate about food and Latin American Culture & community. Also a good position for those looking to practice or further developing knowledge of the Spanish language.
Shift Requirements:
- Thursday to Sunday
- Availability to work at south location (6926-104 St)
- Available to work Part time 4-6hr day shifts
Obligations:
- Greet and assist customers
- Regular stocking of shelves to maintain presentation & availability (Primary Duty)
- Ensuring products are placed in correct area
- Ensuring all prices are placed with respective products
- Regular cleaning and dusting of food shelves
- Informing/Teaching customers about products and providing advice
- Promoting new products and services on an ongoing basis
Skills Necessary
1) Passion/Interest ethnic foods - Interest and willingness to learn more about Latin American foods to help provide important customer experience through suggestions, recipe ideas and teaching customer about Latin American cuisine
2) Proactive - Employee must demonstrate self-initiative to take and complete tasks on their own with minimal supervision. Employees are assigned a specific food aisle and tasked with responsibility to ensuring stock amounts, expiry, inventory, organization and quality control.
3) Customer Service Skills - Willingness to engage in regular conversations with customers; develop own strategies to ensure customer satisfaction. Position best fitted for vibrant, outgoing and proactive personalities. Position not well suited for shy or introverted personalities.
Knowledge in English,
Knowledge in Spanish a major asset
