Safety-Critical Software Engineer

Design safety-critical computer systems at AtkinsRéalis, applying software engineering and cyber security expertise to nuclear projects in Canada. Work across multidisciplinary teams and suppliers.This engineer prepares requirements, preliminary designs, and development tools for computerized safety, control, and monitoring systems. The work includes software specifications, design descriptions, coding, verification, testing, documentation, and technical presentations. You will also support product evaluations, quality processes, and project planning activities.Key Responsibilities:
Prepare requirements and preliminary digital equipment system designsDevelop software, scripts, and test tools for safety applicationsExecute coding, verification, testing, and documentation tasksEvaluate vendor products and implementation processesDevelop cyber security processes and vulnerability controlsRequirements:
Honours degree in computer or electrical engineeringEligibility for Professional Engineer registration in OntarioPreferred eight to ten years in computer controlsFamiliarity with documented software industry standardsStrong technical, problem-solving, and communication skillsApply software design, testing, requirements, and cyber security expertise to safety-critical nuclear systems at AtkinsRéalis.
