Job Title:  Digital Architect
Location: Edmonton, AB

Duration: 3 Years

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:15 AM – 4:30 PM (Alberta Time)

Work Arrangement: Onsite – 5 Days per Week

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Digital Architect to lead the design and delivery of citizen-centered digital services within a large-scale enterprise environment. The successful candidate will work across multiple projects, driving solution architecture, cloud modernization, system integration, and agile software delivery while mentoring development teams and contributing to enterprise architecture practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and solution design for enterprise digital services.
• Develop architectural roadmaps and modernization strategies.
• Analyze existing systems and recommend technical improvements.
• Design scalable, secure, cloud-native solutions.
• Define integration patterns, system boundaries, and API strategies.
• Support iterative and agile delivery of digital products.
• Review and contribute to application code when required.
• Mentor developers and provide technical leadership.
• Create architecture documentation, diagrams, and presentations.
• Identify opportunities to leverage shared services and reusable components.
• Assess technical risks, dependencies, and implementation impacts.
• Contribute to architecture standards, governance, and best practices.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience as a Software Architect designing enterprise-scale solutions.
• 5+ years of experience with containerization, orchestration, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• 5+ years of experience working with UX, Service Design, Design Thinking, or Human-Centered Design teams.
• 5+ years of experience defining architecture for large-scale systems, integrations, modernization initiatives, and cloud-native platforms.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with Microsoft .NET Framework and related technologies.
• 4+ years of experience applying secure development practices, Identity and Access Management (IAM), Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC), and Zero Trust Architecture principles.
• 5+ years of experience designing and managing RESTful APIs and enterprise system integrations.
• 4+ years of experience implementing CI/CD pipelines with automated testing, deployment, monitoring, and observability.
• 6+ years of experience modernizing legacy systems into scalable digital services through phased releases.
• 4+ years of experience working with relational and non-relational databases, including data modeling and performance optimization.
• 3+ years of experience working within public sector digital service environments, enterprise architecture frameworks, or government technology standard
