Overview The HR Generalist - Health, Safety & Talent plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of Human Resources while leading the company’s Health & Safety and recruitment functions. This role is responsible for delivering a seamless employee experience across the full employee lifecycle from recruitment and onboarding to employee support and disability management. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with employment and occupational health and safety regulations, maintain accurate HR documentation and systems, and act as a trusted partner to managers and employees. This role requires strong organizational skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. The HR Generalist will collaborate closely with the HR Team, Payroll, and other internal stakeholders to support HR initiatives, projects, and continuous improvement efforts.
Responsibilities Talent Acquisition & Onboarding (Approximately 30%) Own and manage full-cycle recruitment, including job postings, candidate sourcing, screening, interviews, and offer coordination.
Partner with hiring managers to understand hiring needs and provide guidance throughout the recruitment process.
Develop and maintain job descriptions in alignment with business needs.
Lead and coordinate onboarding activities in Dayforce, ensuring all pre-hire and first-day requirements are completed.
Ensure a positive candidate and new hire experience from recruitment through onboarding.
HR Operations & Employee Experience (Approximately 40%) Maintain and administer employee data within HRIS systems (Dayforce and SAP), including hires, job changes, leaves, terminations, and rehires.
Prepare employment documentation using DocuSign (contracts, letters, confirmations, policy acknowledgments).
Act as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries related to HR policies, benefits, and programs.
Administer group insurance and benefits, including enrollments, changes, and employee support.
Collaborate closely with Payroll to ensure accuracy of employee data and transactions.
Track probation periods and key HR timelines.
Prepare HR communications, including memos, announcements, and internal postings.
Manage the HR inbox and ensure timely responses and follow-ups.
Ensure the accuracy, confidentiality, and integrity of all employee records.
Provide translation support for HR documentation and communications (French/English).
Occupational Health & Safety & Disability Management (Approximately 25%) Manage occupational and non-occupational disability cases, including CNESST claims, return-to-work plans, and follow-ups.
Coordinate sick leave cases (EI and insurer) and ensure proper documentation and tracking.
Maintain health and safety records, track incidents in Dayforce, and follow up on corrective actions.
Liaise with external partners (e.g., Telus Santé, prevention mutual organizations).
Support managers and employees with health and safety processes and compliance requirements.
Ensure compliance with all applicable provincial and federal regulations.
Manage premium reporting and payments (CNESST, WSIB, WorkSafe BC/NB, WCB Manitoba) in collaboration with Payroll.
Health & Safety Committee Act as co-president of the Health & Safety Committee
Organize meetings, prepare agendas, and document minutes
Follow up on action items and communicate updates across the organization
HR Projects & Collaboration (Approximately 5%) Support the HR Coordinator with performance review cycles and salary administration.
Contribute to HR projects, initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts.
Assist in planning and coordinating employee engagement activities and corporate events

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field
3–5 years of progressive HR experience in a generalist or coordinator role
Proven experience managing full-cycle recruitment
Strong HRIS experience (Dayforce preferred)
Solid knowledge of Quebec labour laws and employment standards
Hands‑on experience managing CNESST and disability cases
Experience with multi‑provincial workers’ compensation (an asset)
Strong Microsoft Office skills
Fully bilingual in French and English (spoken and written)
Experience managing WorkSafe BC, NB and WCB Manitoba files would be an asset
Conditions Hybrid work model – 3 days onsite (Monday, Thursday and Friday) / 2 days remote (Tuesday and Wednesday)#J-18808-Ljbffr
