Come and be a part of this success About the Role Located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, reporting to the Manager Finance Accounting in Santiago, Chile, your focus as the Principal Finance Accounting - Potash will be to ensure that Minerals Americas accounting activities are performed in a timely, accurate and efficient manner and in accordance with BHP's Accounting Policies and International Accounting Standards. The position should focus on meeting BHP reporting requirements, providing expert support to the accounting and the broader finance teams on centralized process and systems, monitoring the effectiveness of the process and proactively looking for continues improvement, increasing satisfaction of accounting's stakeholders. This position is the key Accounting contact for a range of stakeholders in multiple jurisdictions, being Canada, Australia, and Chile. Responsibilities include understanding complex accounting issues in changing environments. Main accountabilities include:

• Plan complex processes in advance and engage with other teams effectively for their input in supporting BHP's finance model and reporting requirements.
• Ensure global processes work in a timely and effective manner, ensuring operational discipline and strict adherence to internal accounting guidelines and controls, whilst identifying and implementing process improvement initiatives.
• Work closely with global teams in the implementation of group initiatives influencing them on topics relevant for Minerals Americas.

About You To be successful in this role, you will need to be able to demonstrate:

• Results driven with a qualification in Accounting, a CA, CPA or ACCA with at least 5 years' experience and solid understanding of financial accounting concepts and processes.
• Sound time management and ability to problem solve by using logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions.
• Demonstrated strong financial accounting experience, including IFRS knowledge.
• Good communication skills and strong stakeholder engagement, ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with teams and stakeholders.
• Solid attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines, work under pressure and independently.
• Experience with financial ERP / ECC and consolidations systems, preferably SAP.
• Business acumen, commercial mindset and ability to understand operational aspects beneficial
