The Software Development in Test Engineer will be responsible for planning and performing Integration, Verification, Validation, and Qualification (IVVQ) for the Data Security Fabric product line, which involves a data warehouse solution for auditing and classification. The role is hands‑on and requires participation in IVVQ activities, CI/CD and test automation.
Responsibilities
- Execute Integration, Verification, Validation, and Qualification (IVVQ) activities, including production of IVV planning documents such as Test Strategy, Test Plan, Test Automation plans, System Integration Plan and Release Readiness documentation.
- Tackle direction from and report to the IVVQ Manager to ensure work follows IVVQ policies, processes and project plans.
- Become familiar with customer usage of the system and incorporate that knowledge into IVV planning.
- Create the System Test plan and report to ensure IVV coverage of the system under test, optimizing effort by considering previous verification activities on comparable systems.
- Collaborate with the Project Engineer to define the IVV approach considering schedule, budget and quality requirements.
- Work closely with Software Development Engineers to ensure flawless execution according to the Software Test Plan; support development activities during integration and fix cycles when needed.
- Design, implement, and maintain reliable automated tests (UI, API, integration) using IVVQ frameworks and languages.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, manage test stages (smoke/regression) and reduce flaky tests to keep pipelines healthy.
- Find synergies between test activities across multiple programs.
- Efficiently manage test resources (software and hardware).
- Produce test cases based on defects reported from the field.
- Represent IVV in Final System Acceptance Tests (FSATs).
- Act as Scrum Master when required, uphold agile values and principles, and organize/facilitate Scrum reviews.
Minimum Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in software development in test.
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in computer science or computer engineering.
- Familiarity with languages including Shell scripting, JavaScript, Python, TCL, Expect.
- Familiarity with agile methodology and test‑driven development (TDD).
- Operating systems: Windows, Linux, AIX.
- Databases: SQL, NoSQL.
- Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP.
- Virtualization: VMware products, Hyper‑V.
- Security: encryption, RSA, SSL, FIPS, vulnerability scanning tools, PKI, TLS.
Compensation
The anticipated TTC range for this role is 95,825.40 – 127,767.20 CAD annually. The company reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s protected status under local, state, or federal law.
