Assistant Chief Accountant

Job Responsibility:
We are an important gasket distributor, in business for more than 43 years with various locations across Canada and the USA. The Assistant Chief accountant will play a critical role, reporting to and supporting the Chief Accountant with daily accounting tasks while also contributing significantly to the monthly financial reporting of all compagnies of the Sealsonline group.
Roles and responsibilities include :
- Daily bank account monitoring
- Cash application of customer payments
- Preparation and posting of journal entries
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
- Assist chief accountant with monthly/yearly financial statements
- Assist chief accountant with month end/year end closings
- Prepare monthly sales taxes reports
- Prepare daily management reports
- Reconcile general ledger accounts
Qualifications and requirements:
- College (Cegep) or university accounting diploma
- At least 3 years' experience in similar position (essential)
- Proficiency with Microsoft excel (essential)
- Working knowledge of French and English (essential)
- Knowledge of distribution industry (asset)
- Experience with an ERP accounting system implementation (asset)
Excellent problem-solving skills, positive attitude and attention to detail
Telework 1 day per week
