Our financial services client is seeking a Software Developer (Java, 5+ years) to support migration initiatives using Spring Boot and Azure - Join a large-scale project within a major Canadian banking environment, driving the migration from Node to Spring Boot and scaling services through Azure. This role offers visibility across Core and Shopping & Buying business units, contributing to modernization and API development efforts that support enterprise-grade systems. The position sits within a collaborative 25-person technology team supporting core banking functionality and continuous platform improvement. Contract, Toronto, Hybrid, 2 on-site days. 5+ years developing Java applications using Spring Boot and API development frameworks Proven ability to build and configure databases from the ground up for current APIs Hands‑on experience with migration from Node to Spring Boot Practical Azure migration project experience Knowledge of API Mainframe integration within banking environments Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline (asset) Nice to Have

Azure Fundamentals or Java certifications Prior experience migrating from Node to Spring Boot Previous experience within a major Canadian bank Responsibilities
