General Manager

Location: Princeton, ON (with regular travel to operating facilities and customer locations)

We are seeking an accomplished and visionary  General Manager to lead the strategic, commercial, financial, and operational success of our grain business. As the senior leader of the organization, you will play a pivotal role in driving profitable growth, strengthening customer and producer relationships, maximizing operational performance, and building a high-performing culture that supports long-term success.

What You'll Do

As General Manager, you will provide overall leadership across all aspects of the business, including grain origination, commercial development, operations, logistics, financial performance, and organizational effectiveness.

Key responsibilities include:

Strategic & Commercial Leadership

• Develop and execute business strategies that support growth and profitability.

• Expand grain origination volumes and strengthen producer participation.

• Identify new market opportunities, partnerships, and growth initiatives.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with producers, customers, industry partners, and stakeholders.

• Represent the company at industry events, customer meetings, and community engagements.

Financial & Operational Excellence

• Own and lead the business unit's financial performance and profitability.

• Develop and manage annual operating and capital budgets.

• Drive continuous improvement in productivity, margins, and operational efficiency.

• Provide executive oversight for grain handling, storage, logistics, inventory management, and customer fulfillment.

• Ensure facilities operate safely, efficiently, and effectively while maximizing asset utilization.

Leadership & Culture

• Build, coach, and develop a high-performing leadership team.

• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

• Support workforce planning, talent development, succession planning, and employee engagement initiatives.

• Champion organizational effectiveness and alignment with company values.

Safety, Compliance & Risk Management

• Promote a safety-first culture throughout the organization.

• Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, environmental, and industry requirements.

• Oversee risk management, governance, and operational compliance activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Agribusiness, Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.

• Equivalent executive-level industry experience will also be considered.

Experience

• 10+ years of progressive leadership experience within agribusiness, grain handling, grain merchandising, commodity trading, agricultural supply chains, or related industries.

• Demonstrated success managing complex operations with full P&L accountability.

• Strong track record of driving commercial growth and business performance.

• Solid understanding of grain markets, producer networks, logistics, and grain quality management.
