Senior Program Manager, Health Research Team

Lead strategic community health research as a Senior Research Program Manager at the University of Calgary. This in-person, full-time position focuses on managing a nationally recognized research program spanning three key areas. As a vital contributor, you will oversee the operational management of a $6.6 million grant portfolio through the Department of Community Health Sciences. Your leadership will ensure compliance with funder requirements while enhancing community partnerships and coordinating diverse research activities. This role demands strong experience in managing complex research environments. Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct daily operations of comprehensive research programs
  • Manage ethics submissions and maintain compliance rigorously
  • Prepare and coordinate various funder reports timely
  • Supervise and support research staff across projects
  • Lead grant application efforts, including budget proposals
Requirements:
  • PhD in public health or similar field
  • At least 5-7 years in progressive research management
  • Expertise in research related to Black communities
  • Solid experience with budget oversight
  • Proven supervisory capabilities in research contexts
