Distribution Lines - Operations Superintendent, Eastern Region (Quinte West)

Job Overview

Salary Range: $134,215 – $173,690 per year. Hydro One provides the largest electricity transmission and distribution network in Ontario. This role is located in Trenton and supports the Director – DX Lines. Responsibilities

Provide direct output support to the Director – DX Lines; manage 1‑5 year resourcing requirements for a defined region and oversee internal and external workforce mix. Coordinate and manage the assigned DX Lines work program for the region, ensuring timely and efficient completion, adjusting the program as required. Negotiate contractual agreements and manage labor relations with unions to meet business goals. Lead health and safety initiatives, rehabilitate programs, and ensure training programs are accessible and meet workforce capability needs. Develop and manage systems to meet due‑diligence requirements and support business competitiveness. Support the customer strategy: develop customer relationships, monitor satisfaction, and manage municipal and developer relations within the region. Oversee multi‑discipline work crews and monitor technicians, clerical groups, and business support functions to comply with processes and data requirements. Respond to trouble calls and direct emergency response; allocate variable workforce resources as needed. Minimize risk and injury exposure; maintain necessary equipment, materials, and information for contract execution. Qualifications

8‑10 years of related experience with progressive supervisory responsibility or its equivalent. Knowledge of electrical and mechanical theory and maintenance disciplines (building trades, safety practices, etc.). Business administration knowledge for budget development, costing, and project specifications. Strong written and oral English communication skills. Experience developing and implementing training, scheduling, and organizational planning. Managerial Accountabilities

Manage the portfolio to achieve approved programs and results, and set an effective framework of policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and corporate requirements and foster a two‑way relationship with subordinates. Maintain a high‑capability team through staff assessment, development, and performance reviews. Mentor and counsel subordinates, promoting collaboration and continuous improvement.
