Position Summary

The Server is a key contributor to the overall guest experience, bringing professionalism, warmth, and efficiency to every interaction. This role requires a strong understanding of hospitality, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. As a representative of the restaurant’s values and standards, the Server ensures that each guest feels welcomed and cared for from arrival to departure, creating memorable moments through exceptional service and genuine connection. This position reports to the General Manager, with directions and instructions from Senior Management and the Owners at times.

Position Responsibilities

• Providing fast, friendly, professional, and responsive customer service to restaurant guests.
• Being exhaustively familiar with all food and beverage items on the menu, inclusive of an array of wines, chef specialties, and communicating how the meal will be coursed, identifying appropriate beverage pairings, and answering food preparation questions.
• Transmit orders to bar and kitchen by recording guests’ choices and identifying guests’ dietary needs and special requests.
• Selling on a consistent basis, while continuing to create new opportunities and strategies for increasing the cheque average.
• Create a competitive sale driven environment and set personal sales goals for yourself every shift.
• Regular food running, understanding drop lines and best practice in terms of communicating dishes table side. 
• Anticipate your guest’s needs and excel at reading your tables.  Create a roster of return clientele.   
• Performing the opening and closing procedures i.e., the set up and break down of stations, clearing and re-setting up of tables, etc.
• Performing accurate cash & credit handling as well as POS procedures.
• Maintaining and ensuring the overall cleanliness of assigned station(s) and establishment.
• Protecting the restaurant and guests by complying with sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies.
• Strive to provide and influence others on the team to create a ‘next level’ guest experience.

Experience and Qualifications

• Education: Valid BC Foodsafe Certification & BC Serving it Right Certification.
• Experience: prior experience in a food-serving establishment.
• Self-motivated, organized, and ability to multi-task effectively.
• Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule, days, nights, and weekends.
• Must be punctual and reliable.
• Ability to work varied hours.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with guests and employees.
• Customer service focus and quality orientated.
• Adaptable and flexible.
• High energy level.

Work Schedule

This full/part-time position generally works eight-hour days. The specific work hours during the workday may be determined through mutual agreement, allowing for flexibility as needed.
