Caledon is looking for a dedicated Deputy Fire Chief to manage risk reduction strategies and educate the community on fire safety. In this leadership position, you will provide oversight to the Fire Prevention team and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Your role will involve fostering relationships within and outside the department, enhancing safety objectives for the town. Key Responsibilities:
- Create targeted public education programs on fire safety
- Guide the Fire Prevention team and advisory roles
- Align fire safety messaging across Town initiatives
- Set and assess performance metrics for the fire division
- Oversee volunteer firefighter operations and stakeholder relations
- Diploma in Public or Business Administration
- 7+ years in municipal fire services
- NFPA certifications in fire inspection required
- Knowledge of legislation and guidelines
- Strong leadership and coaching skills
