Sample Prep Technician

Position Title: Process Technician
Location: Onsite, 55 km SE of Regina (Hwy #33)
Type: Full-Time, 12-hour rotating day/night shifts
Responsible for monitoring and operating test facility systems and controls, collecting/analyzing brine samples, assisting with maintenance, and maintaining accurate records in compliance with MER, WSA, and MOE regulations.
Key Responsibilities

Operate solution mining systems (pumps, valves, filtration, mixing equipment, conveyor) within set parameters.
Monitor and record flow rates, temperatures, pressures, and volumes.
Collect, analyze, and log brine samples per approved protocols.
Assist with offloading salt from trailers to silos safely and correctly.
Identify and report leaks, spills, abnormal readings, and issues promptly.
Support lockout/isolation and assist with minor maintenance.
Maintain housekeeping and safe work areas.
Drive company vehicle for sample delivery or supplies.
Work collaboratively and complete other assigned duties.

Qualifications & Experience

High school diploma required.
Experience with brine systems, solution mining, industrial sites, or trades is an asset.
HMI/production software familiarity is an asset.
Trades training (millwright, pipefitting, instrumentation, electrical) is beneficial.

Required: Class 5 License, SCOT certification

Mechanical aptitude; strong troubleshooting.
Recognize process upsets and communicate clearly.
Self-motivated, safety-focused, detail-oriented.
Proficient in manual/digital data recording.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Able to lift 25 kg, work outdoors, climb ladders, and work at heights.
Able to commute to a rural worksite.

Working Conditions

Rotating 12-hour shifts (days, nights, weekends).
Industrial setting with exposure to brine, noise, and temperature extremes.
PPE required at all times.
Overtime or call-ins may occur.
Strict no drugs/alcohol policy.
