Looking for live in nanny/household helper to join our family in East Van

We're a family of four in East Vancouver near Commercial Drive looking for a live-in nanny to join us starting full time (40 hours a week) in January, 2027. Our kids are 4 and 2. They're active, creative, and genuinely sweet, and we're looking for someone who will enjoy them. We're both busy professionals and we need real help with our kids and our household. This role is a mix of childcare, cooking, and keeping our home organized. Hours 40 guaranteed hours per week, primarily Monday to Friday. We want to be upfront that this won't be an exact science. The shape below is our general rhythm, but our work weeks shift and some days will look different. We're looking for someone comfortable with a schedule that flexes rather than one that runs like clockwork, and we'll give as much notice as we can when things move. Mornings, roughly 7:30 to 9:30 Our busiest stretch and the most consistent part of the week. We often have early meetings, so we need reliable help with breakfast, getting both kids dressed and out the door, and school and daycare drop-off. Our older child is an 11-minute walk to school and our younger is a 20-minute walk to daycare, or a very short drive. Then about 1-2 hours a day after the kids are gone (flexible on timing). Cleaning up from breakfast, laundry through to folded and put away, resetting the main rooms, keeping the kids' clothes, toys and gear organized, staying on top of the entryway and the kitchen, and running errands or the grocery shop as needed. We have a cleaner twice a month for deep cleaning, so this is upkeep and organization rather than scrubbing, but we need it done consistently and well. Late afternoon through bedtime, usually from around 4:30. Pickup, driving to activities, dinner, bath and bedtime. We'd count on you to cook dinner for the whole family about three nights a week. We cover the other nights. Some days pickup is earlier or later depending on activities and our work commitments. We like to be with our kids as much as we can, so most evenings we're home and you're handing off partway through, but we do have work engagements and the occasional date night where you'd be doing dinner and bedtime on your own. Fridays end after the morning block. Your Friday afternoons and evenings are yours. Occasionally we might ask for a Friday date night and we'd give you plenty of notice. Weekends Most of the weekends we will spend as a family, but we occasionally need help, typically a weekend morning or a few hours so we can get out. This would fall within your 40 hours. And we would give you notice. For this job, we want to find someone who is proactive. We're not able to hand you a detailed list every morning. We need someone who sees what needs doing and does it. This matters most when one of us is away for work, which is roughly one week-long trip each per quarter (not at the same time). During those weeks you'd be covering more of the household on your own so the solo parent can focus on work, so we're looking for someone who's comfortable stepping up when it's needed. Travel We'd love someone open to travelling internationally with us with all travel costs covered. A valid passport is preferred. Food Please let us know what type of food you can make. We love lots of types of food - Indian, Italian, Thai, Canadian etc. We are a mixed family Indian Canadian American Canadian. Requirements Driver's license strongly preferred. If you don't drive but are willing to learn, we'll pay for lessons. Same with First Aid and CPR: certification preferred, but we'll cover the course if you're willing to get certified. References required, and we'll run a criminal record check. Your Living Situation We live in a detached home in East Vancouver in a very walkable area with nearby grocery stores, restaurants, and shops. You will have a private room in the second floor (the kids' room and our room is also upstairs). We have a shared bathroom upstairs and another one downstairs. We have a backyard with patio furniture that you can enjoy. Room to garden if you enjoy that. Pay/Benefits We are looking to pay between 22-25 /hour depending on experience. Two weeks paid vacation per year, and five paid sick days. One week of vacation we'd like you to line up with our family travel, and the rest is yours to choose with reasonable notice. This role will start fulltime in January but we'd like to do some paid trial sessions before then to get the kids comforatable with you. (Full-Time, Live-In) For morning, day, evening (for weekends)
