Site Description: The PostTransitional Care Centre (PTCC) is part of Kingston Health Sciences Centre (KHSC) and provides care and support to patients who are transitioning from acute hospital care to their next stage of recovery or care. The centre supports patients who may require additional time, rehabilitation, and assistance before returning home or moving to another appropriate care setting.

Hours: | Continental- 0800-2000/2000-0800

Payrate: | $22.61/hour

Job Description:

• Present a smart, visible, and alert security presence

• Greet, assist, and direct members of the public visiting the premises

• Ensure the safety & security of clients, buildings, and assets

• Work effectively, both independently and as part of a team

• Carry out all security duties as specified (including, but not limited to):

•Proactive/reactive interior & exterior patrol

•Response & assistance in emergency situation

•Documenting & reporting of any/all security events on shift

•Investigate routine incidents

•CCTV monitoring

•Parking & smoking by-law enforcement

•Hospital policy awareness & enforcement

•Access control/key control

•Monthly safety inspections

•Additional duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

• Valid Ontario Security Guard License

• Valid Standard First Aid & CPR - Level C Certificate (from a WSIB-approved provider)

• Ability to be clean shaven to pass an N95 Mask Fit Test

• Proof of COVID-19 Vaccine (minimum double vaccination)

• Steps to get your immunization records:

• Immunization Form:

• Ability to clear a Vulnerable Sector Check (during onboarding)

• Minimum 6 months healthcare security experience preferred

• Minimum 6 months of non-healthcare security experience preferred

• Must be able to commit to full-time availability for no less than 6 months

• English proficiency (oral & written) is required
