Senior Business Analyst – Oracle PeopleSoft HCM We are Systematix and we are currently looking for a Senior Business Analyst (Oracle PeopleSoft HCM) to support a major enterprise HR transformation initiative at one of our Ontario public sector clients.

This is a long-term engagement supporting the modernization and optimization of an enterprise PeopleSoft HCM environment. The successful consultant will work closely with Human Resources, Finance, Payroll and IT stakeholders to document current business processes, define future-state operating models, develop functional specifications, and support the successful delivery of multiple HR transformation initiatives.

ABOUT THE PROJECT Our client is undertaking a large-scale PeopleSoft HCM transformation focused on improving business processes, data quality, integrations, governance, and operational efficiency across Human Resources and Payroll.

The Senior Business Analyst will play a critical role in leading business discovery activities, documenting complex enterprise requirements, producing functional design documentation, supporting integration initiatives, and ensuring business requirements are successfully validated through User Acceptance Testing.

This engagement offers the opportunity to work on a high-profile enterprise program involving multiple business units, external vendors, and third-party integrations within a highly collaborative project environment.

ABOUT THE RESPONSIBILITIES The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Business Process Analysis & Future State Design

Lead discovery sessions with business stakeholders across HR, Finance and Payroll.

Analyze and document complex current-state business processes.

Develop standardized future-state business process models.

Facilitate workshops to establish governance, operating procedures, and cross-functional business rules.

Perform fit-gap analysis against Oracle PeopleSoft HCM 9.2 functionality while promoting standard platform capabilities.

Business Requirements & Functional Documentation

Develop comprehensive Business Requirements Documents (BRDs).

Produce Functional Design Documents (FDDs).

Document business rules, system validations and data requirements.

Create functional specifications supporting enterprise integrations.

Define reporting requirements and automated data validation processes.

Integration Analysis Support functional design for integrations between PeopleSoft HCM and enterprise platforms, including:

ServiceNow

JDx

AtWork Care

LinkedIn

Responsibilities include:

Field mapping

Functional integration specifications

Data Governance & Compliance

Define enterprise data standards and validation rules.

Develop requirements supporting data quality initiatives.

Document business controls preventing duplicate employee records.

Support pre-boarding and Employee Self-Service processes involving sensitive employee information.

Ensure solution design aligns with organizational governance standards and FIPPA requirements.

Project Delivery Support

Partner with project managers, technical leads, and solution architects.

Review technical documentation and project deliverables.

Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

Develop test scenarios and business validation scripts.

Coordinate defect review and functional issue resolution.

REQUIREMENTS Must Have

Minimum five years of Business Analyst experience within Oracle PeopleSoft environments.

Extensive experience supporting Oracle PeopleSoft HCM 9.2 implementations or enhancements.

Demonstrated experience across at least three of the following modules:

Core HR

Position Management

Payroll

Time & Labor

Strong experience producing:

Business Requirements Documents (BRDs)

Functional Design Documents (FDDs)

Functional Specifications

Process Maps

Integration Documentation

Experience facilitating stakeholder workshops and requirements gathering sessions.

Strong business process mapping and business transformation experience.

Experience supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to Have

Experience integrating PeopleSoft with enterprise applications such as ServiceNow, Sun Life, pension providers, or benefits platforms.

Experience supporting enterprise HR transformation initiatives.

Knowledge of Ontario post-secondary business processes and regulatory requirements.

Oracle PeopleSoft Functional certification.

CBAP, CCBA, or PMI-PBA certification.

ABOUT THE ROLE Engagement Type:

Contract

Duration:

Approximately 22 months

Location:

Hybrid – Sheridan College campuses (Hazel McCallion Campus, Mississauga; Davis Campus, Brampton; and Trafalgar Campus, Oakville) with remote work.

Approximately two days per week during business discovery and analysis phases.

Increased on-site presence during User Acceptance Testing and key project milestones.

Hours:

Full-time (1.0 FTE)

PAY DISCLOSURE The expected hourly rate range for this contract is:

Senior:

$80–90/hour

Final rate will be determined based on demonstrated Oracle PeopleSoft HCM expertise, enterprise HR transformation experience, public sector and/or higher education experience, and overall alignment with the requirements of the role.
