Software Engineer - Apple, Inc.

Vancouver's tech scene has a new opportunity worth paying attention to. Apple is hiring a Software Engineer to join the Apple Universal Media team in Vancouver, British Columbia — the group responsible for powering some of the world's most-used digital platforms, including the App Store, Apple TV, Apple Music, Apple Podcasts, and Apple Books . If you want your work to reach hundreds of millions of people across more than 150 countries, this is the kind of role that makes that possible.

This isn't a role where you'll be siloed into one corner of a codebase. You'll be working across the full stack — building scalable backend services in Java/Spring , crafting rich interactive web applications with modern JavaScript and TypeScript frameworks , and designing the high-throughput data pipelines and storage layers that keep Apple's media services running at scale. The team stays small and cross-functional by design, which means you'll have real exposure and real ownership.

About the Role: Software Engineer

As a Software Engineer on the Apple Universal Media team, you'll own key modules of the product end-to-end. Your work will directly shape the way millions of users consume video and media content. You'll collaborate closely with designers and product managers to bring polished experiences to life while building the robust backend infrastructure that supports them.

The team places a strong emphasis on privacy by design , code quality , and cross-functional collaboration . You'll need to be comfortable working under tight deadlines and solving complex technical problems with creative, imaginative solutions. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organisation are just as important as your technical chops.

Benefits and Salary

Apple offers a base pay range of $119,100 to $230,500 for this role, with your exact pay determined by your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Beyond base salary, the total compensation package includes eligibility for discretionary restricted stock unit (RSU) awards and participation in the Apple Employee Stock Purchase Plan , which lets you purchase Apple stock at a discount. Additional benefits include comprehensive medical and dental coverage , retirement benefits , a range of discounted Apple products and free services, tuition reimbursement for education related to your career at Apple, and potential eligibility for discretionary bonuses, commission payments, and relocation assistance .
