The Nurse Practitioner blends an in-depth knowledge of nursing with the legal authority and autonomy to order diagnostic tests, prescribe pharmaceuticals and perform specific procedures in the management and treatment of common acute illnesses and stable chronic conditions. The RN(NP) practices within a framework of evidence-based primary care, holism, health promotion, and disease and injury prevention. The practice involves building partnerships with individuals, families, and communities. This includes community needs assessments; supporting inter-professional collaboration; and participating in continuous improvements through evaluative processes/projects. Human Resources Exemption: No Experience- Three (3) years nursing experience
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
Licenses
- Valid Class 5 driver's license
Other Education and Training
- CNA certificate in clinical practice area is an asset
- Gerontology certificate is acceptable

- Knowledge in leadership strategies
- Knowledge in community development and facilitation strategies
- Knowledge in communication strategy, methods and tools
- Demonstrates the ability to be resourceful and to adapt to changing conditions
