We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Team Member to play a key role at our soon to be rebranded property in Courtenay, BC. Reporting to the Operations Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

• Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
• Reviews job orders with the Operations Manager to determine work priorities and schedules repair and maintenance.
• Plans and coordinates the repair and maintenance at times that do not disturb guests.
• Fulfills preventive maintenance schedules for common areas and hotel leased spaces as required.
• Performs repairs as required in guest rooms to ensure all rooms are in top shape and working condition to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
• Ensures that Preventative Maintenance is completed in accordance with hotel standards
• Maintains certified pool operator designation to coordinate pool maintenance - training will be provided.
• Maintain proper usage of tools and equipment in accordance to OHS and Worksafe BC Standards
• Update and record jobs completed or outstanding.
• Follow departmental policies and procedures and service standards
• Follow all safety and sanitation policies
• Other duties as assigned
• Maintains all common area and gardens, lawn cutting and trimming as required.

REQUIREMENTS

• Previous experience in maintenance position or in a position requiring some hard physical work and a high standard of guest/customer service
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
• Highly responsible & reliable
• Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team
• Ability to work well unsupervised, at a fast pace while maintaining quality standards
• Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
• Impeccable grooming and presentation
• Completely fluent English language skills, both written and verbal
• Commitment to provide excellent service and exceed guests' expectations
• Must be available to work varying shifts, overtime, weekends and holidays
• Constant standing and walking throughout shift
• Frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs
• Frequent kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
• Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
• Must be physically capable of performing repetitive work

Preferred Experience (but can also be taught):- Experience in facilities maintenance and repair work- Mechanical knowledge to handle various equipment repairs- Leadership skills to oversee maintenance operations

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $19.00-$24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 50 per week
