About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Woodworking Helper / Installer Assistant to join our growing team. This position is ideal for someone looking to build a long-term career in woodworking, millwork installation, and shop fabrication.
This role offers significant room for growth, with opportunities to learn advanced skills in installation, finishing, and shop production.
During our busy season (summer months), we are especially open to full-time and contract work, with potential for continued employment based on performance.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the lead installer on job sites across Ontario
Support the installation of finished cabinetry, millwork, base, trim, and related components
Work in both shop and field environments as needed
Assist with:
Cabinet assembly and general millwork fabrication
Sanding, prepping, staining, and finishing support
Spray booth preparation and basic finishing assistance
Handle, move, and organize materials safely
Maintain clean and safe work environments on job sites and in the shop
Follow project specifications, drawings, and instructions from the lead installer
Required Skills & Abilities
Basic knowledge of woodworking tools and the ability to safely handle and operate related tools and equipment
Ability to use and maintain basic personal hand tools (portable tool kit required)
Comfortable working in construction and shop environments
Physically fit and able to lift and carry materials
Willingness to travel across Ontario for project installations
Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work long hours when required
Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team
Assets (Not Required but Considered an Advantage)
Previous experience in woodworking, cabinetry, millwork, or construction
Familiarity with spray finishing or staining processes
Experience working on commercial or institutional projects
Work Environment
Fast-paced, deadline-driven production and installation work
A combination of shop fabrication and on-site installation
Projects may include schools, courthouses, and commercial buildings
Seasonal peak workload during the summer months
