Senior Electrical Engineer

Position
We are seeking a full‑time Senior Electrical Engineer. Responsibilities Independently lead electrical projects and a project team of engineers and designers. Oversee and support the electrical designers in developing other electrical drawings such as cable schedules, motor control schematics, wiring diagrams, etc. Manage project schedules, deliverables and budgets. Manage change on projects. Produce manhour estimates for new jobs. Produce electrical MTOs. Specify and procure electrical equipment such as MCC’s, VFD’s, UPS systems, heat trace controllers, harmonic filters, electrical buildings and inductor motors. Support mechanical engineers in the specification of equipment such as pumps, compressors, process equipment packages. Develop load lists, electrical equipment lists and other calculations to support the sizing and specification of equipment. Perform power system studies such as short circuit, coordination, arc flash, harmonic mitigation and transient motor starting using applicable software such as ETAP and SKM power tools. Develop single line diagrams for medium and low voltage industrial power systems. Develop area classification drawings and details. Provide leadership and mentoring to other team members. Requirements An Electrical Engineering Degree with a minimum of 5–10 years experience working in an EPC environment. Registered professional engineer with APEGA (Alberta). Registration in other provinces such as BC and Saskatchewan would be an asset but not a requirement. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Willingness to travel to job sites to scope out projects, meet with clients and construction personnel.
