Lead municipal planning in Yellowknife using strategic vision, development expertise, and policy skills to shape the city’s evolving urban landscape.The City of Yellowknife seeks a Senior Planner for its Planning and Environment Division. Reporting to the Manager, Planning and Environment, you will guide complex projects and policy development. Your work will support strategic goals through research, recommendations, and public-facing planning documents.Key Responsibilities:
Lead major planning and development projects aligned with strategic goalsRecommend decisions on complex development permitsPrepare policy and bylaw documents for reviewConduct research and deliver data-driven municipal reportsMentor junior staff on policies and best practicesRequirements:
University degree in urban and regional planningAt least six years of planning experienceFull membership in good standing with CIP and APPIExperience creating visual aids using ArcGIS and AutoCADValid NWT Class 5 Driver’s LicenseUse municipal planning, policy development, and leadership expertise to help shape Yellowknife’s future through complex projects.
