Radiation Therapist I

Alberta Health Services

Located in southern Alberta, Lethbridge is a vibrant community of 106,000 with many amazing local attractions, a thriving agri-food scene, 200km of walking/biking trails, and 4 UNESCO World Heritage Sites just a day trip away. As one of the most affordable cities in Alberta, Lethbridge offers a high quality of life for individuals and families alike. As a smaller Radiation Therapy department, the Jack Ady Cancer Centre presents an opportunity to grow your career and expertise quickly as a Radiation Therapist, working alongside a strong, multidisciplinary team. Students in the final year of a Radiation Therapy Program are encouraged to apply with flexible starts dates available pending registration with ACMDTT.

As a Radiation Therapist I, you will deliver a prescribed course of radiation treatment to patients and assist in the efficient, safe and accurate planning of patient's care during simulation and/or planning procedures according to the direction of a Radiation Oncologist. You will assess each patient's reactions to treatment, document treatment plans, and maintain patient records. Additionally, you will educate patients about treatment procedures, side effects, and appropriate management strategies to mitigate the side effects of treatment, making referrals to other health professionals as needed.
