Site Description:

London Hydro is a key utility provider delivering electricity services to the community. The facility contains sensitive infrastructure and administrative offices that require controlled access and consistent patrol coverage. Security staff ensure the protection of assets, personnel, and critical systems while maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory standards.  

Position:  Part Time Security Guard  

Site: London Hydro  

Hours:  Saturday & Sunday (07:30 - 15:30 hours) 

Pay Rate: $21.85/hour  

Overtime Method : Averaging agreement (AA) - 88 

Posting Date: September 25, 2026  

Internal Closing Date: October 2, 2026  

External Closing Date: October 31, 2026           

Job Duties:

• Conduct regular patrols of the property and designated areas by both vehicle and on foot.
• Monitor site access, including employees, contractors, visitors, and deliveries.
• Perform access control and verify identification as required.
• Monitor CCTV and security systems for suspicious or unauthorized activity.
• Respond promptly to alarms, incidents, and emergencies in accordance with site procedures.
• Maintain detailed and accurate daily activity reports and incident reports.
• Enforce site policies, procedures, and security protocols.
• Report safety hazards, security concerns, and maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel.
• Assist with emergency response procedures, including contacting emergency services when required.
• Provide professional customer service and maintain a visible security presence.
• Perform other security-related duties as assigned by site management.

Prerequisites: 

• Valid Ontario Security License 
• Standard First Aid, CPR Level C  
• Working knowledge of the Trespass to Property Act and Mental Health Act  
• Superior written and verbal communication skills  
• Demonstrated punctuality and reliability        
• Authorized to legally work in Canada  

Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability.
