Position Overview
The Deployment Driver provides safe, reliable, and professional transportation for workers throughout the arrival and onboarding phase under the direction of the Deployment Specialist. Operating a 15-passenger van (carrying up to 10 workers plus luggage), the Deployment Driver transports workers between airports, accommodations, training facilities, appointments, and other deployment activities, ensuring workers arrive safely, on time, and in accordance with the approved Deployment Schedule.
Schedule
This positionoperateson a rotational schedule based on operational requirements and may include rotations such as:
- 14 dayson / 7 days off
- 10 dayson / 4 days off
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, statutory holidays, and extended hours isrequired.
Vehicle Responsibility
Company vehicles are provided for work-related duties. Vehicles are assigned in accordance with operational requirements and are to be used solely for authorized business purposes.Vehicles are parked at the designated company location at the end of each shift unless otherwise authorized.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Complete airport pickups and take workers and their luggage safely to their accommodation.
- Drive workers to onboarding activities, appointments, and training on schedule.
- Support the Deployment Specialist with daily worker movements, timing, and routing.
- Keep in regular contact with the Deployment Specialist on schedules, route changes, delays, and updates.
- Help load and unload luggage and belongings.
- Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks and keep the vehicle clean,fueled, and roadworthy.
- Arrange scheduled maintenance with the Logistics Coordinator, report defects promptly, and keep mileage and maintenance records.
- Drive safely and professionally in all conditions, including winter, following Alberta traffic laws and company safety rules.
- Respond quickly to itinerary changes, flight delays, and urgent transport needs.
- Report any incidents, delays, or worker concernsimmediatelyto the Deployment Specialist and operations team.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift and carry up to 50lbs(23 kg).
- Load and unload luggage, personal belongings, and household items.
- Enter and exit vehiclesfrequentlythroughout the day.
- Sit and drive for extended periods.
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including rain, snow, ice, heat, and cold.
- Perform duties requiring bending, kneeling, reaching, and walking.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least 2 years of professional driving experience, ideally transporting passengers or supporting deployment,logistics, hospitality, or field operations.
- Experience driving passenger vans or commercial vehicles is preferred.
- Safety-focused and professional, withgood timemanagement.
- Calm and adaptable with changing schedules, traffic, and weather
- Physically capable of loading and unloading worker luggage.
- Comfortable using GPSnavigation, smartphones, andmobilecommunication apps.
- Bilingual in English and Tagalog is a strong asset.
- Valid Alberta Class 4licensewith a clean driver's abstract and able to drive a 15-passenger van.
- Able to drive safely in varying weather, road, and winter conditions.
- Current First Aid / CPR is an asset.
- Able to travel around Edmonton, Sherwood Park, and Fort Saskatchewan (about 90–100%).
- Flexible to work evenings, weekends, statutory holidays, and extended hours.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
Additional Requirements
This is a safety-sensitive position. Successful candidates must complete a criminal background check, pre-employment drug and alcohol test, and provide a satisfactory driver's abstract prior to mobilization.
