The Ministry of Highways is seeking an Equipment Operator for the Weyburn Section within the Operations and Maintenance Division. The successful candidate will work as part of a team responsible for maintaining Saskatchewans transportation network, including roads, highways, and airports.

Applicants must possess a valid Class 1A drivers licence and be able to provide a current drivers abstract if requested. Required knowledge includes the operation, maintenance, and servicing of heavy equipment such as graders, tandem trucks, loaders, snowplows, and related equipment. Candidates should understand basic mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, fuel, and lubrication systems, as well as workplace safety, traffic control, occupational health, hazardous materials, and dangerous goods requirements.

Strong communication, critical thinking, digital, interpersonal, self-management, adaptability, and health and safety skills are essential. Duties include coordinating daily crew activities, assigning tasks, monitoring equipment use, operating and maintaining heavy equipment, performing highway maintenance and snow and ice control, and maintaining operational records.
