Director of Strategic Major Gifts in Toronto

Lead the major gifts initiative at Toronto Humane Society in a director role that focuses on strategic planning and donor engagement in a hybrid work environment. Drive impactful fundraising strategies. As the Director of Major Gifts, you will work directly with the Chief Development Officer to enhance the organization’s philanthropic goals. Your responsibilities will include building impactful donor relationships and mentoring your team to ensure effective major gift funding initiatives. This role is key to supporting Toronto Humane Society's 2025-2030 Strategic Plan through comprehensive engagement and strategic vision. Key Responsibilities:

• Build and execute a major gifts strategy for growth
• Manage a diverse donor portfolio and prospects
• Foster a culture of philanthropy throughout the organization
• Lead strategic fundraising campaigns and events
• Continuously assess and improve fundraising strategies

Requirements:

• Successful track record in major gift fundraising
• In-depth knowledge of donor engagement practices
• Experience leading effective teams
• Strong planning and organizational skills
• Familiarity with donor management databases preferred
